May 2009 GreenEdge Kids Events

The May 2009 event calendar for GreenEdge Kids has shaped up to be fairly caffeinated. Sometimes you just need to get out. Here it is:

May 9, 2009 (10am-4pm) - Encinitas Country Day School in Encinitas, CA: When a local school in our community expresses interest in organic kids clothes, we are there! GreenEdge Kids will exhibit at the school's Eco-Blast event, an educational event dedicated to local green products and businesses. GreenEdge Kids will also participate as a speaker, presenting the pollution and social issues behind conventional clothing and the plentiful reasons to choose organic clothing instead.

May 16-17, 2009 (Saturday 10 am-7 pm, Sunday 11 am - 6 pm) - Green Festival in Chicago, IL: GreenEdge Kids is pleased to participate in this year's Green Festival in Chicago, IL: Celebrating what’s working in our communities, the Chicago Green Festival™, a joint project of Global Exchange and Green America, showcases more than 350 diverse local and national green businesses. More than 150 renowned speakers appear for insightful panel discussions and presentations. You’ll also enjoy great how-to workshops, green careers, a Fair Trade pavilion, Youth Unity Pavilion, kids’ activities, delicious organic beer, wine and cuisine, and live music. Find out how Midwest neighbors, community nonprofits and city departments are working together to make their cities healthier places to live. Green Festival Chicago will be located at the Navy Pier, 600 Grand Avenue, in downtown Chicago.

May 23-25, 2009 (10 am-7pm) - Topanga Days in Topanga, CA: We couldn't resist signing up for what looks like to be a fun and earth-friendly Memorial Day week-end. Topanga Canyon is located in Southern California, northwest of Los Angeles. Topanga Days is a 36-year old event that celebrates music and arts, in a community known for appreciating green living. The event is held outdoors at the Topanga Community Club.

May 30-31, 2009 (12 pm-9pm) - Bu-Fest in Malibu, CA: We are interested in participating in this first-time indie music event at the Paramount Movie Ranch in Malibu, CA. The event is focused on green event production as well as green living exhibitors.
