Stay Eco-Friendly Throughout 2012

Here are simple inexpensive ways you can stay green and maintain an eco-friendly lifestyle!

  1. Bring reusable bags with you to grocery stores and shopping trips.
  2. Grow a garden! Grow vegetables such as tomatoes, carrots, lettuce, or beans. You will save a lot of money and will be eating fresh at the same time.
  3. Minimize food waste. Eat your food within the expiration dates so you won’t have to throw anything out. Also, make sure to eat your leftovers instead of leaving them in the fridge to rot.
  4. Use a compost to enrich your soil. In the case of rotting foods, create a compost pile to use for the soil in your garden!
  5. Go to your local library to rent books, DVDs, and CDs instead of buying them yourself.
  6. Bike or carpool to work and school.
  7. Shop online! You may think WHY? But actually it saves you a lot of time and is more earth-friendly than going out to your favorite stores. You can start by checking out GreenEdge Kids; an online eco-friendly children’s clothing boutique.

Start with these eco-friendly inexpensive ways to be green and see the difference in your lifestyle quickly.
